Our roots

Lendr was established in 2011 as Viking Funding Group by our CEO and Co-Founder Tim Roach. A serial entrepreneur and former Navy seal, Tim used his experience applying straight through processing technology in trading and commodities to create the business.

Building on its early revenue momentum, Viking rebranded and relaunched as Lendr in mid-2016. Lendr continues to grow by hiring fun, enthusiastic, driven people who align with the brand.

Meet the Team


Tim Roach,
Chief Executive Officer.

Tim is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lendr. His decades of experience using quantitative risk models and portfolio analysis serves as the basis for all of Lendr’s financing platforms. Tim started his finance career at Arbitrade, a technology advanced options market maker and asset management company. In 2002, Tim founded Oak Street Trading, a proprietary trading firm focused on worldwide commodities markets. Tim has a diverse background in the financial markets, and over his eighteen year career at the Chicago Board of Trade, CBOE and the CME group, he gained a deep knowledge of commodities, futures, equities and options. Tim holds a B.S. in Finance from Linfield College and served in the United States Navy at Seal Team One.

Daniel DeMeo, Chief Revenue Officer.

Daniel is the Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for overall revenue growth including Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Lendr. Daniel has extensive management experience in tech-based financial services companies. Prior to joining, he was the CEO of CAN Capital. Previously, Daniel served as CFO for JP Morgan Chase’s consumer and small business unit and as CMO and Business Development head for GE Capital’s consumer card unit. His career started at Citibank, where he held various roles in business analytics and marketing for the credit card unit. Daniel received his B.A. from New England College and MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

John Bavone,
Chief Financial


John is the Chief Financial Officer at Lendr and brings over 20 years of financial management experience including operations, benchmarking, mergers and acquisitions, lending, and investments. Prior to joining Lendr, John served as CFO for a national funding company and a global capital markets firm where he improved operational efficiencies, profitability, and financial reporting, while maintaining the firms focus on customers and growth. John began his career at BMO Harris Bank, where completed their credit training program and worked as a commercial Lender, among other roles. John received his B.A. from Loyola University (Chicago) and MBA from DePaul University.

Thomas Howe, Chief Risk Officer.

Thomas is the Chief Risk Officer and responsible for identifying, mitigating and managing risks and opportunities across Lendr’s suite of products. Prior to Lendr, Thomas served as a consultant at two firms focused on credit risk analysis of finance platforms on behalf of major commercial banks and lending institutions. He began his career in financial performing platform acquisitions at He later invested capital on behalf of endowments, pension funds and high net worth individuals at several New York-based private equity and hedge fund firms for eight years. Thomas received his B.A. in English Literature from Hobart College.

Steve Townsend, Vice President of Finance.

Steve, Vice President of Finance, oversees Lendr’s day-to-day financial reporting, taxation issues, banking relationships, budgeting and forecasting, investor communications, collections and cash management. Steve is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and has served as a chief financial officer and financial consultant in numerous industries for over 30 years. Prior to joining Lendr, Steve acted as President of Tower Consulting, Co. and Chief Financial Officer of Tower Oil & Technology Co., where he designed leading financial reporting systems, and developed budgets to analyze operating performance of cost and profit centers. Steve graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Accounting and Business.

Karitza Hines, Human Resources Manager.

Karitza is responsible for ensuring the overall safety, welfare and wellness of all employees and is tasked with managing recruiting and staffing logistics, compensation and benefits administration, payroll, training and development and charitable giving. Karitza has amassed nearly 20 years of combined management, recruiting and staffing experience throughout her career. Prior to joining Lendr, Karitza acted as Human Resources Manager at National Tax Search. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources Management from DePaul University.
